Launching a Career

Quick update on what I've been up to the last month. As it turns out, getting a career in the film industry isn't all that easy.

However, I have been fortunate enough to land a role as the Video Production Specialist at the Victorian Health Issues Center, and also an internship at Passion Pictures making great creative productions. It's fairly busy balancing these two jobs and still working at a restaurant on the weekend, but I still have enough youthful optimism to hold out. Or maybe it's ignorance. Eh. I also get some freelance work in when I can. I was recently flown out to Sydney to cover a General Practitioner's summit for the future of doctor's in Australia. Great weekend, great people. I've seen creative's in the film industry talk about their work with passion, and it's no different when you're a doctor who's enthusiastic about medicine. And I found time a couple of weeks ago to give a talk to some grade 5-6's about 'persistence' and how they can pursue a career that will make them happy when they're older. Extremely rewarding. I like teaching, hope to do more of it when I've gone through the industry and have a wise understanding of how things work. No pictures that I can show this month of my work. It's either boring or can't be shown publicly yet. But soon!
